Reflex

Reflex has worked hard to build up a reputation of producing quality plumbing products, whilst their cutting edge design ensures that their product lines never stand still. Here at Heating and Plumbing World, we are Reflex expansion vessel suppliers.

As Reflex expansion vessel suppliers, we are committed to carrying a wide range of these vital plumbing parts.

Expansion vessels are also known as expansion tanks. These are used within closed water systems as well as domestic hot water systems to protect against any damage that could be caused by a prolonged build up of excessive pressure. Particularly with hot water, when it heats up, pressure can increase by anything up to 4.5%, which makes the expansion vessels a hugely important part of any sealed system. As pressure increases, the expansion vessel allows this pressure to be released safely. The size of the expansion vessel required will depend on the size of the closed water system.

As water increases in temperature and expands, the pressure pushes against the diaphragm of the expansion vessel, utilising the additional volume of the vessel. When the temperature decreases, the pressure is also decreased, forcing the water from the tank, back into the main system, helping to maintain a constant safe pressure within the heating system.

Our Reflex expansion vessel range includes the reflex 18l expansion vessel, which is suitable for use within heating systems where the flow temperature ranges up to 120 ?C. Crucially, the vessel has low gas permeability, making it ideal for use within gas central heating systems. The two halves of the vessel are bonded together using a crimped collar which provides a tight and pressure proof seal.

With largely the same specifications, apart from a slightly greater capacity, the reflex 25l expansion vessel is also suitable for use within systems where the flow temperature is up to 120 ?C. These expansion vessels have been thoroughly stress tested, in accordance with the Pressure Systems Directive.

Our Reflex range also covers brackets for wall mounting expansion vessels up to 25 litres. Larger vessels tend to be free standing and, as such, tend not to need to be mounted.
