Gas Fire Oxy Pilots

If you are looking for an oxy pilot for gas fires, here at Heating and Plumbing World, we stock a wide range. All gas fires are fitted with an oxy pilot, which is the component within gas fires that produces the flame that is used to ignite the gas and activate the fire, generating the heat required to warm the room. It is a clever multipurpose component that also acts as an atmospheric sensing device that can also extinguish the fire should it detect oxygen levels dropping as a safeguard against carbon monoxide poisoning. For this reason, oxy pilots are sometimes referred to as oxygen depletion sensors.

It is recommended that you switch off your oxy pilot when not in use, in order to save energy and money, as well as for safety reasons. Gas fires can release carbon monoxide which is an odourless gas, and for this reason, we recommend that every home that has a gas fire also has a carbon monoxide alarm and that the room is well ventilated.

We stock a large range of main gas fire spares including a comprehensive selection of oxy pilot for gas fires. This is a component which needs regular replacement in order to maintain the safe operation of your gas fire. All gas fire components must be fitted by a qualified Gas Safe engineer, ideally during the appliance's annual service where the engineer will ensure that it is operating as per the manufacturer's guidance and make any necessary repairs.
