Atag’s powerful XL range are conventional condensing boilers intended for large or commercial premises. Originally there were three boilers in this range - the XL70, XL110 and XL140. Other members of the family now include the XL75W, XL105W, XL125W, XL150W, XL180W and XL210W. The “W” denotes they are outfitted for wall-hanging. Similarly, an “F” is sometimes added to floor-standing variants. XL units can use two internal heat exchangers for optimum efficiency, or each can be operated independently, reserving one as a backup. It is straightforward (“plug-and-play”) to link multiple XL boilers in a cascade, providing higher outputs and flow-rates. When multiple units are cascaded, they can be installed in a variety of configurations; wall mounted or free standing, in-line, in-line duo, back-to-back and back-to-back duo. The maximum number of units recommended in a cascade is x8, so for example using XL140 units could provide 960 kW, or using XL210 units could achieve about 1600 kW. Although highly efficient, power output varies according to the temperature setting. For example, the Atag XL 110 nominal heat output at 50/30ºC is 102.3 kW but at 80/60ºC, Atag XL 110 output falls to 95 kW. The heat exchangers are built from stainless-steel, which has four times more corrosion resistance than aluminium, adding to the long lifespan and reliability of Atag’s XL boiler range. Their high efficiency can help your enterprise achieve carbon reduction targets per unit of generated heat. For the same reason, these boilers have received praise for their extremely low emissions of carbon monoxide and nitric oxides. Atag’s XL series are conventional boilers but highly flexible. As a result, although there is no Atag XL combi as such, they can easily be configured to provide all of a building’s hot water requirements.
