Arctic Hayes
We supply Arctic Hayes reports pads for use when carrying out landlord or home owner gas safety inspections. They are issued in accordance with Gas Safety Regulations (Installation and Use). Landlords are required to have all their gas appliances and supplies inspected annually to keep their tenants safe.
The report pads produce a duplicate form so that one can be given to the tenant to comply with gas safety legislation. The report pads include a standard statement complying with the regulations in a prominent position in the top left corner of the form. It reads "Flues were inspected visually and checked for satisfactory evacuation of products of combustion. A detailed internal inspection of the flue integrity, construction and lining has not been carried out". This makes the terms of the inspection clear in the event of any legal action following the inspection.
The form has clear boxes in which to easily complete trading name and address, gas installer reference number, Gas Safe registration number, and the date of the inspection. Below this are boxes in which are recorded the landlord details including name, address, telephone number, and whether the landlord or their agent was present during the inspection.
Below is a grid to systematically record the details of the inspection. Appliance details are recorded in terms of their location, make, model, and flue type. The inspection details are recorded in terms of operating pressure, heat input, correct operation of safety device, and whether ventilation is adequate. The flue test is recorded in terms of flue flow test pass or fail, spoilage test pass or fail, whether the termination is satisfactory and whether the visual condition passed or failed. Following these details, the inspector can clearly record whether the appliance is safe to use or not. Finally, the faults (if any) and required remedial actions are recorded.
