A thermostat is a tool that is responsible for the regulation of the temperature in a heating system. You are able to set your preferred temperature, and the thermostat keeps the room at this desired level. If the ambient temperature drops below this level, the thermostat will switch the heating system on to help warm it up. Once the desired temperature is reached, the thermostat will switch off the heating again so that it does not get too warm. There are a number of different thermostats available including wireless thermostats, battery-operated thermostats, programmable thermostats and even smart thermostats. A smart thermostat gathers data from your routine and adapts as needed. Programmable thermostats can be set to switch on and switch off at certain times. Most new thermostats are digital but some mechanical ones are still found in older properties/systems. The digital ones have electric sensors and internal components to help them react to temperature changes and maintain target settings with high-levels of accuracy. Mechanical thermostats are less accurate than their digital counterparts and rely on metal sensors that expand and contract. Room thermostats Room thermostats offer you complete control over the temperature of your wet central heating system. Most of the major heating manufacturers such as Honeywell and Siemens produce room thermostats in wired and wireless and digital and analogue variations. Showers When it comes to showers, there is a wide range to choose from. A thermostatic shower is made with comfort and safety in mind and gives you control over the water temperature. Alternatively, you could opt for a mixer shower but with a thermostatic shower valve to protect you against sudden temperature changes. We stock several different models of thermostat.
