When a home does not have access to mains gas, one of the heating options available is to use an oil fired boiler. These are certainly less common than gas-fired boilers, but many of the four million homes which are not connected to mains gas use this heating method without running into problems. Oil tanks may be kept on-site and filled as required. Whilst oil-powered boilers may not be as economical as those powered by gas, it is often far cheaper than heating a home with electricity. Here at Heating & Plumbing world, we carry a range of parts for oil-powered boilers, including the oil boiler pump. An oil boiler pump is responsible for ensuring the correct quantity of oil is pumped to be ignited within the boiler. A faulty oil boiler pump can result in too much fuel being pumped through, making your boiler inefficient, or conversely not enough fuel making it through, meaning the home is not heated effectively. As with any parts for any kind of boiler, it is important that you ensure that the boiler fuel oil pump you purchase is the correct part for your make and model of oil fired boiler. An incompatible boiler fuel oil pump will not work effectively within your heating system. It is also vital that you ensure parts such as a boiler pump oil are only installed by competent and qualified individuals. If work is carried out by someone who is unaccredited, this could lead to your boiler being unsafe.
