When it comes to the Joules range of cylinders for hot water, there are a number of different options to choose between. For example, their hot water cylinders come in both vented and unvented formats, which can ensure that the installer can create the ideal heating system for each individual job. Vented cylinders are a great option for storing and heating water that is stored in the traditional manner (i.e. in a tank kept in a loft space) and tend to be available in stainless steel or copper materials.

Unvented cylinders are an excellent option for situations where a loft space may not be available in the property, or where the height difference of the water tank to the cylinder would not be sufficient to guarantee a good level of water pressure to all taps. This means that the unvented cylinder adopts a different approach and draws cold water directly from the mains water connection. It then heats it to make it ready to use. Direct unvented water cylinders use electricity to heat water in an immersion heater, whilst indirect unvented water cylinders use the gas from a boiler to make the water hot.
